An unexpected break... (TW:miscarriage)
I joke with my friends that 2021 is the year that's been trying to take me out. Because I've experienced some of the biggest highs followed by some of the biggest lows.
Like getting pregnant. And then loosing our baby in a traumatic miscarriage right before I entered the second trimester. I'll never forget the moment in the ambulance when I was sure I might not make it as the paramedic kept asking me to stay with him.
Or synchronicities leading us to find our home in the mountains of VA. A place where I've never felt so bonded to the land and a move that happened right after our miscarriage when our world was still spinning.
Like deepening my connection with nature and a strange recurring infection. Sending me to the ER three times in one month and doctors puzzled at what was going on.
More recently I've been receiving some of the most important dreams I've received in my lifetime. Like gifts of magic from the other side. And yet at the same time over the last month, I've been facing some big health questions. The kind that keeps you up at night while you wait for test results and then the next test.
But in 2021 fashion just as I was hitting my stride at accepting what is, whatever that may be, I got hit this week with an upper respiratory infection.
While I stood in the shower breathing in the steam to help my airways I heard "it's time to take a break."
And so unexpectedly I'm taking a break from social media, the podcast, my newsletter, and my blog until I cross over into 2022.
I always say our minds have plans and then life has plans. 2021 is the epitome of just that for most of us.
I always find there's wisdom in the unexpected plans life throws me. Even when they're really hard. So I'm surrendering to the wisdom of this break. Some of which I can see and some of which is yet to be revealed.
In the meantime, it's an opportunity to catch up on past podcast episodes you missed, to relisten to your favorites, and reflect more deeply on what I've already shared.
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and I'll see you on the other side of 2022.
Much love,
Marci
